Happy October!

“There is something in October sets the gypsy blood astir: We must rise and follow her, When from every hill of flame She calls, and calls each vagabond by name.”

Pssst….there’s something really special in here for a very special day.

healstory

It’s a time of changing leaves, burgeoning pumpkin patches, and reflection.  Almost a year ago I was honored to be part of the Great Comebacks Ceremony, which honored inspiring ostomates and the amazing nurses that made our lives possible.

You can watch my story in the Great Comebacks documentary:

Well, this Saturday is a very special day.  It’s actually…WORLD OSTOMY DAY is October 3rd, 2015!

Ostomies are something very dear to my heart…and near to my belly.  Yes, I have one.  I don’t always like it, but then I remember why I need to.  And then…I love it!

Creativity is a mindset... (2)

World Ostomy Day may only be one day, but I’ve got a way to keep the celebration going for the rest of the year…

So don’t worry un-ostomates, you won’t be left out.

P.S. Sometimes it’s hard having an ostomy, but there are some wonderful nurses who make it possible for us.  I was honored to be featured in this video:
